GeoGratis : Great Lakes Mosaic
The mosaic of the Great Lakes Watershed is composed of 82 Landsat MSS images acquired between June 1 and September 15 from 1985 to 1987. It is 7921 pixels by 7201 lines and contains 4 bands of data. The geographic boundaries are: 40°- 52°N (latitude) and 95°-73° W (longitude), with sampling intervals of 6 seconds (latitude) and 10 seconds (longitude).

Individual files that were used to complete the mosaic are also available.  These files are geometrically and radiometrically corrected and are reprojected into latitude and longitude co-ordinates.  The images are 1098 pixels by 1364 lines and contain 4 bands of data.  The *.scd file contains information for the north-west corner of the image as well as the sampling intervals.  The *.zip files contains both the image (*.pim) and header file.  To access the free data, FTP to ftp.ccrs.nrcan.gc.ca/gad/geogratis/greatlakes/images/ or select the images from the drop-down menu below:
