Ecosystems of North America
Canada's ecosystem's are part of a network of North American and global ecosystems which collectively comprise the Ecosphere of the earth. The Ecosystems of North America map demonstrates the richness of the ecological diversity of North America. At this level of detail, some 52 North American ecosystems have been delineated. Many of these ecosystems possess features of worldwide significance. Note some of the differences and connections between the ecosystems that cross the shared borders between Canada and the United States and the United States and Mexico. Some ecosystems, such as those in the high arctic include Canada, Alaska and other northern countries such as Russia.
